Summer Experience 2016!

A group photo!

In July, here at the Jaguar Rescue Center, we hosted our first ever Summer Experience for local youth. 11 kids from the ages of 5 to 13 years old joined Dexter and Elena for 5 days of activities. They had the chance to explore Cahuita National Park and visit a chocolate farm for a taste of local culture.

The group spent time in the Rescue Center and hiked in La Ceiba nature reserve. The kids learned about the challenges wild animals in the area face and ways that we can work together to protect wildlife and conserve what makes Puerto Viejo and the Southern Caribbean so special.

A little taste of local culture!

We believe that nourishing their interests and encouraging the children’s passion for wildlife is key to the future work of protecting many unique and endangered species here in Costa Rica and around the world. It is our hope that these exciting and educational experiences have the power to inspire the next generation of scientists, veterinarian and nature conservationists.

Thank you to all of the parents and children for participating in our Summer Experience 2016. We hope to do it again next year.
