When you arrive at the entrance of La Ceiba, you will find an intercom. Please ring the bell and wait patiently to be attended by someone. We do not have a reception situated close to the entrance. Often we are our working in the jungle with animals and it takes us some time to get back to you. Be patient and you can ring the bell several times to ensure we hear you! Do not enter alone.
Tours can be booked online or directly at the Jaguar Rescue Center during the office hours of 9am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday.
This depends every night, as we will be walking around our primary rainforest reserve. Depending on weather, breeding patterns and amount of prey available, we will be looking for reptiles, amphibians, nocturnal birds and mammals.
We always recommend closed-toed shoes, long trousers and some bug repellent. Mosquitos are not very bad here unless we get lots of rain.
NO. There is a 10-15 minute walk from where you park your car in the garage up to your house, walking though primary rainforest on a well lit, cemented path.
We 100% recommend a backpack. It is much more practical for the walk in. However if you are arriving with a lot of baggage or a large suitcase, let us know in advance and we will make sure we have people to help you to your house.
The houses are equipped with a fridge-freezer, microwave, oven and hobs, coffee maker, blender, mineral water, pots and pans, utensils to cook and eat with and towels and sheets.
We do have a rancho area where we can provide food upon reservation. You have to reserve directly with the Jaguar Rescue Center at least 24h in advance. This is not a restaurant that is open all the time.
