Communication Volunteering

If you enjoy writing and love digital marketing, this internship could be the perfect placement for you!

Your skills could help the JRC to promote our work and improve wild animal protection.

Position Description: During your internship you will work alongside our community manager. You will learn about or be involved in some of the following:

Gain valuable work experience in digital marketing, from working on the social media marketing strategy, improving the content of social media sites and keeping them updated
Communications and community management copywriting activities such as press releases, newsletters, blogs etc.
Making videos and pictures related to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of wild animals plus the regular center activities.
Assisting in online fundraising campaigns.

All the activities are variable and dependant on project needs and the technical level of interns but offer a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and experience in the communications and digital marketing field for wildlife and nature conservation.

Required Skills

Minimum 18 years old
Excellent writing skills and an interest and knowledge in marketing, wild animals and nature
Experience in social media platforms
Well organized and able to meet deadlines
Photography and video making demonstrable experience
Good level of Adobe Photoshop and MS Office
Familiar with Mailchimp, Gmail, Drive and Analytics
Interns are asked to bring a laptop with them
Desirable Adobe Illustrator and Premiere
Capacity to generate creative ideas and create content for different platforms like Youtube, Instagram, facebook, IGTV and TikTok

Work Schedule

6 days per week for 3 months. Daily schedule from 8:00 to 2:00pm

College Credit

College credit is offered if desired; volunteer is responsible for obtaining necessary approvals from their university

Jaguar Inn

We offer accommodation for our volunteers located next to the Rescue Center. Jaguar Inn is a beautiful new hostel designed for your comfort and convenience.

Bright exterior rooms with garden views and 4 single beds, quality mattresses, sheets, towel, large capacity locker, individual reading light and plugs to charge your electronic devices. All of them are ensuite with hot shower and include mosquito nets.

In the common area (El Rancho) you can relax and share experiences with your fellow travelers from all over the world sitting on the comfortable sofas. You can prepare your meals in the fully equipped kitchen: cutlery and utensils, stove, oven, microwaves. There are several supermarkets close by and you can store your food and drinks in the refrigerators.

Of course the wifi internet connection is included and for your added security.

We offer a private bungalow for couples or individuals. Terrace with garden views, fan, queen bed, spacious bathroom and fridge.
