Today, we are proud to announce a new chapter in that mission. The Jaguar Rescue Center has officially joined the Global Rewilding Alliance, an international network of organizations working to restore ecosystems, recover wildlife populations, and create a future where nature can thrive once again.

About the Global Rewilding Alliance
The Global Rewilding Alliance brings together hundreds of organizations, scientists, conservationists, and practitioners from around the world who share a common vision: a planet where nature is recovering and thriving.
The Alliance works to advance rewilding through collaboration, scientific research, education, policy development, and the exchange of knowledge between organizations working on the front lines of conservation. By connecting projects across continents, the Alliance helps strengthen efforts to restore ecosystems and recover wildlife populations at a global scale.
What is Rewilding?
Rewilding is a conservation approach focused on restoring natural ecosystems by allowing wildlife and natural processes to recover. Simply put, it is about giving nature the space, support, and opportunity to heal itself.
Healthy ecosystems depend on countless interactions between plants, animals, and natural processes. When species disappear or habitats become degraded, those systems can become unbalanced. Rewilding seeks to reverse this decline by helping wildlife return to their natural environments and supporting the restoration of healthy, functioning ecosystems.

What This Means for the Jaguar Rescue Center
For almost two decades, the Jaguar Rescue Center has worked to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured, orphaned, and confiscated wildlife along Costa Rica's Caribbean coast.
Every year, hundreds of animals pass through our rehabilitation programs. Many are successfully returned to the wild, where they can once again play their role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.
