Leatherback sea turtle stuck at the beach encounters a happy ending!

It was around 5:15 in the morning when received a call from a local about a Leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) that was stuck at the beach, we gathered the rescue team and went to the site. The turtle was stuck between two palm trees, showing signs of tiredness from trying to get free.

This turtle must weigh around 700kg, they're the largest of the 7 species of sea turtles. In order to free the turtle, a rope had to be placed under her and attached to a car to be gently pulled, this whole process took almost an hour. And thanks to the team, the local people and foreigners who have been there helping she was finally able to make her way back to the sea. What a wonderful moment!
